Embark on your adventure from Kouga Wilderness, starting with a thrilling 11km hike up a picturesque kloof. The trail meanders through lush, sub-tropical flora, including ancient cycads, vibrant fynbos, majestic yellowwood trees, and rare Baviaans Cedars. Bird enthusiasts will delight in the rich bird life along the way. As you ascend, the scenery transforms into a mountainous paradise, with crystal-clear streams where you can drink fresh water straight from the source and inviting swimming holes perfect for a refreshing dip. This trail is a haven for nature lovers, promising captivating views at every turn.
Return Journey: A Scenic Loop
On the second day, lace up your boots and continue on a circular route back to Kouga Wilderness. The hike offers expansive views, perfect for family photos, and opportunities to marvel at ancient rock art, hidden inside our infamous “Tiergrot”. With safe parking at the trailhead and optional accommodation at Kouga Wilderness either camping or in a Chalet, guests can stay the night before and/or after their hike. This flexibility makes the adventure ideal for families and groups. Embrace the beauty and history of the Kouga Mountains as you complete your adventure.
Camping Under the Stars
As the day fades, you’ll arrive at a well-equipped campsite nestled in the mountains. Although hikers must bring their own camping gear, tents and mattresses are available for hire. The campsite boasts a full ablution block with wood-fired hot showers, flush toilets, and a scullary, ensuring comfort even in the wild. Additionally, a braai grid, kettle, and pots are provided, meaning you only need to bring your plate, cup, and cutlery. Enjoy the serene night sky, unmarred by city lights, as the sounds of nature lull you to sleep. This night in the mountains is an experience not to be missed.

Please note the following details:
– R600 per person.
– Includes 2 nights in campsites with ablutions. (Please note that at the main campsite, where your car parks, you need to bring your own cookware, crockery, and cutlery. However, at the hike-in campsite, there will be a kettle, pot, pan, and grid provided.)
3 Day Hike Price
